Sinaloa, Mexico . . . haunting deserts, hot nights, and vampires, who’ve been there for hundreds of years, watching from the shadows, playing their games, manipulating humans, and surviving at any cost.
Vincent Kuxim, powerful and charismatic, was made vampire by an ambitious leader looking for soldiers to pave his way to the rule of all Mexico. But more than a century later, Vincent’s Sire is looking over his shoulder as Vincent closes in for the kill, ready to claim the title Lord of Mexico for himself.
Lana Arnold is a bounty hunter, smart, beautiful, and determined to chart her own future. So when the most powerful vampire lord in all of North America enlists her help in tracking down a very old and elusive bloodsucker, Lana sees nothing but opportunity. There’s only one catch. The client wants her to take Vincent—a vampire she neither knows nor trusts—along on her hunt. Then again, maybe it’s herself she doesn’t trust, because Vincent Kuxim is sex walking in a pair of tight black jeans.
Thrown together by circumstance, Vincent and Lana soon find themselves battling an evil they didn’t know existed in a fight that makes Vincent all the more determined to destroy his Sire, seize Mexico for himself . . . and keep Lana by his side forever.
Vincent Vampires in America Book 8 eBook D B Reynolds
One Helluva Road Trip! On the wake of Alexandra's death, Raphael contracts Lana Arnold--bounty hunter and acquaintance of Cynthia's, to do two things: find an ancient vampire named Xuan Ignacio and take Vincent Kuxim with her. She had to travel to Mexico in order to accomplish this mission and do it alone without the knowledge of her father.Vincent Kuxim, Lt. to Enrique Lord of Mexico; was one arrogant, charismatic, drop-dead-gorgeous, I-am-sexy-and-I-know-it vampire! Yeah, he was very comfortable in his own skin. Very strong and powerful in his own right, he was tired of his Lord and knew it was a matter of time before the two would butt heads. But what he didn't know, was that a tall beautiful woman was about to sweep in and throw him off balance.
Lana was accustomed to good looking Latin men, so she thought until she met Vincent. Almost immediately, they both became attracted to one another. She played it very cool and ignored the oozing sexuality that Vincent was throwing off and he was not having it. He was intrigued by this and it made him sit up and take notice. Being a predator, he was up for the challenge. This was going to to be an interesting road trip.
This is how you write a Vampire story! After reading this entire series of Vampires in America, Vincent's book was one of the best. It had the complete package: Action-packed, fast paced, suspenseful and a really good story. And just when you thought you had previously feel in love with one of the other Vampire Lords, Ms. Reynolds throws yet another domineering Alpha your way.
I loved Vincent's 'kick ass and take names' personality! He did not f%*k around, period! And yet, he had a heart of gold when it came to taking care of Lana. She was no squeaky mouse either. Having grown up around men and a tomboy at heart, she held her own when it came to getting down and dirty. I imagine that she and Cynthia will become great friends.
This was truly one page tuner that I could not put down. Enthralling and sexually charged, Vincent is one book that you would not be disappointed in reading. I am so looking forward to see what Ms. Reynolds has in store next.

Vincent Vampires in America Book 8 eBook D B Reynolds Reviews
I have to confess that Vampires in America is my absolute all time vampire series. The world created by D.B. Reynolds is so real, fresh, enduring and long running (thank heavens)! There is such an emotional connection with each and every book that many authors cannot create or keep viable with such consistency. So lets be clear here folks, she does it so well!!! One cannot help but be swept away by the depth and complexity of the world that is revealed, the diversity of the characters and the capacity of this author to weave a hell of a story that is action packed and fast paced.
Loved the very palpable connection and snarky, witty banter between Vincent and Lana. They are a sexy couple. As always the author has created great characters full of depth. Lana is strong, independent and an almost fearless heroin who is not afraid to be vulnerable or embrace her feminity. This is a well ploted, fast paced story with increasing sexual chemistry. We do get a treat at the end, Raphael and Cyn make an appearance.
Once again D.B. Reynolds has created a great story, two new protagnist and more to come. Vincent's character reminds me of aspects of Rajmund and Lucas but he is very much his own man. But as good a read as this 8th addition to Vampires In America (VIA) Series is, I was a bit disatisfied with how the relationship between Vincent and Lana was left, ambigious. Hopefully the next book, Deception, will clarify more. This is a five star plus read!
I have happily read and enjoyed all of the books in this series, Vampires of America, by D.B. Reynolds. But this story is the absolute best yet. Most remarkable is Reynolds character development. It is superb. The relationship between Vincent and Laura Arnold is written so their procession from strangers to lovers is the most natural and realistic I have ever read. Reynolds carefully lays out each one and gives the reader a clear, concise, and delightful insight of who they are, what their backgrounds are, and how they ultimately fits so perfectly together.
Best of all she makes Vincent a humorous and charismatic delight. A sexy Alpha with pizzazz. Laura is sharp, content with her life and herself, and not afraid to appreciate a beautiful and sexy male. They circle each other, well aware of the attraction but take their time before the intimacy. The buildup is exciting and never interferes with the rest of the story. Reynolds weaves the two together with style and flare. When the two move into the sexual part of their relationship it is written honestly and with knee buckling heat. YUM!
Unlike another book I recently read Reynolds never sacrifices the action parts for gratuitous sex or unrelenting and static back and forth between Vincent and Laura. Let me assure you the sex is HOT and exciting but written to enhance the characters and demonstrate the progression and change in their relationship.
The story is great. Fast paced, beautifully crafted to showcase the delightful characters of not only Vincent and Laura but their supporting cast. Reynolds brings in old friends and throughout keeps true to her plot and also puts in hints of her next book. The story moves smoothly and never lags and keeps the reader totally entranced.
I recommend this book with not just five stars but with ten. In all my years of reading paranormal novels this is by far one of the best. It ranks up there with Christine Feehans Dark Prince, the book that started the paranormal genre. If you haven't read D.B. Reynolds before you are in for a treat. Although I would recommend starting at the beginning, this is book eight, you can still thoroughly enjoy this one now and go back and start with the first book, Raphael. There are also three novelettes about Raphael and Cyn that are well worth the read.
Kudos to D.B. Reynolds, this is in a class of its own.
